Put simply, I entirely agree with TaiuReinhart's post on this feed. BoomStickB's discretion to give me a month long mute for "Respect All Players" is very clearly wrong and an abuse of said discretion. Howver, Diaphortetic, as disheartening as it is, reinforced this abuse by denying my appeal. You wanna know what I said that got me muted for so long? : "BoomStickB can't speak another language, common BoomStick L" Is this not common speech? Is this not banter? How is it that this rises to a level of disrespect warranting a mute? I wasn't even warned for goodness sake! And here's the kicker! I have a screenshot of BoomStickB going even further than I by admitting that he can't even speak ENGLISH. Should not BoomStickB be muted for disrespect towards a player? Or is he an exception to the rule due to his staff status? The notion "Well it was directed towards himself" may be used, but it is false in its application. Would I not then be muted for self deprecating myself in chat to an extent that it seemed as if I was mentally unhealthy and needed a therapist? Or would that be allowed since everything I say would be directed towards myself? Would I not be told to drop the topic? Would I not be warned to stop? Then why is it that in the mute I received, I was not warned previously? and why is it that BoomStickB is not held to the same standard as myself? Should not staff be held to an even higher standard than the regular player base? Plus, what kind of impersonal copy paste appeal responses are you giving out Diaphoretic? I mean my man, I was MUTED, yet it said "We hope to see you after your ban has been fulfilled". Clearly you are not taking appeal forms seriously enough. I'm sure the workload from them is massive, however, rather than simply deny them on whims with the same copy paste shenanigans, why not give genuine, and personal responses while maintaining the professional aspect? Is it true that you even looked at the facts of my case in specific? If you did, then what possible reasoning led you to believe that the ruling by BoomStickB was at all fair or just? What reasoning led you to believe that no reduction of the punishment's duration was fair? How many cases have there been similar to mine which have been appealed on whims or not approved on whims? Why are you setting a standard of next to no speech for the player base by denying my appeal? No tone or hint of disrespect or contention can be held at all within our speech? If so, why is not half of the server muted for a month by now? Why is it that I am held personally to a higher standard of not just a majority of players, but also STAFF! As I mentioned, I have a screenshot of BOOMSTICKB HIMSELF admitting he can't even speak ENGLISH. Let alone any other languages like my joke implied that got me muted for a whole month alongside a denied appeal. Would I be muted for saying "You smell!" To someone? What if moments after I were to follow it up with "nice..." as in to say they smell nice, the joke being the misleading nature of the phrase. Granted, it is not as though I can actually smell them, so what would it matter anyway? Because that is about the same amount of "disrespect" in my banter towards BoomStickB. It's a joke, truly. These rules are a joke, and the staff make it even funnier by being jokes themselves. Because that way, it's a kangaroo court where staff are always right! Why would a random player's interpretation of the rules matter after all? Why would you set a common standard? Why would you not trust the discretion of your fellow comrade in staff over a genuine player who plays daily and sinks hours of their time into the server? TaiuReinhart is right in saying it is a dictatorship. See, a king sets laws that apply to even himself, that is what makes a king noble and good. The dictator however, sets laws that apply disproportionately to whomever he wishes on mere whims. This is why democracy became common practice, by decentralizing the power it is easier to apply the law fairly and justly to all, whether than be left in the hands of an unjust dictator or tyrant. And so although I agree and understand the "discretion" clause, standards nonetheless should be set as to allow fairness to all players. That way rather than mere whims of the day, some professional scrutiny can be applied rather than disproportionately handing out punishments from ambitiously ambiguous rules. why are you denying my appeal every single time? provide a reason man

So I've had some good times on your server and I admit I believe it has great creative and thought with its various game modes and mods; however, I have now realized that this server could be one of the worst. I was enjoying my time playing only to be met with a permanent ban. Obviously the server needs to have rules and enforce those rules to keep things fair and honest with the community and I am all for it. I unfortunately am not ok with how this has been handled. Before receiving my ban, I was not reprimanded or warned ahead of time of what was happening. One day I was met with a screen that says that I have been banned forever because of "Network Threats". I was unsure what this meant and went to look at the rulebook of the server. Under said reason for being banned it simply states that there are a various number of "Network Threats" that will not be tolerated and overall hurt the integrity of the server and its players. This could be in the form of DDOSing and such. I had never committed such an act, but if that's what the moderators felt was necessary sure. I then appealed twice to get this banned removed because I do not understand where the grounds for it are and even asked twice for it to be explained to me as to why I have committed acts of "Network Threats" and both times it was ignored and instead I was told the following: "Thank you for submitting an appeal! After reviewing the evidence for your situation and the appeal you submitted, we, unfortunately, cannot accept this appeal. Network threats is against the rules of Advancius. For a complete list of rules please visit our website: https://www.advancius.net/rules Please note: The Moderation team reviews every appeal with care. In order for the team to approve a reduction we need appropriate evidence, a well written appeal, and a player who wishes to come back to Advancius! We hope to see you after your ban has been fulfilled." This in no way addresses the evidence or reason to why I was banned and provides no form of feedback other than the warming grace that my ban period of forever will stand as such, so thank you for confirming that. But again, this provides no information about the allegation against me or any reasons for justifying these claims. This server doesn't sounds like a fun community that fosters the enjoyment and happiness of its players, but rather a dictatorship or fascism that will simple do whatever it wants whenever it wants and for any reason. They do not need to give any reasons for their actions because they can do as they wish. I enjoyed myself for sometime on the server and was looking forward to enjoying much more time, but instead I was falsely accused of some crime and was never given any further details. At first I wanted so bad for my banned to be removed, but now I am glad that it wasn't so I could see the true nature of the server and the lack of remorse and attention to detail that its moderators and staff have. At this point I would just like any sort of information past, "Network Threats are against our terms of service", I am clearly aware that "Network Threats" is a bannable offense but have no clue as to exactly the reason for such a broad category. You are allowed to run your server however you want, but bare in mind it might not be the fair to all the users and you will end up losing a very dedicated player base. So thank you for your time of reviewing my ban twice and saying the exact same copy paste statement and saying that you spent time reviewing my case when you in fact did not. I appreciate you going above and beyond for me.

I did put an appeal in and it was rejected by you to "fulfill the length of the punishment". I feel that since I've had some time away, and have worked on myself a lot, there should be room for a good faith second opportunity.

Hey I've been banned for around a year and I'd really like to come back what is required of that? I made a network threat as a joke, and you won't unban for it. What has to be done on my end, I am a different person now, I've addressed my personal issues, and I wish to come back to play Advancius. Edit: I did make an appeal, and it was denied. You were the one that denied it, and it says I can't submit another one.
